Osmo's Polyx®-Oil Anti-slip 3089 is a clear, satin finish oil for interior wooden floors, for use where an anti-slip finish is needed.

Polyx®-Oil Anti-slip is a professional floor finish which is extremely tough, hard wearing and slip resistant. The oil contains fine, compressed organic particles, which are evenly dispersed within the finish, providing an anti-slip surface when cured. It can be used anywhere normal OSMO Polyx®-Oil can be used. It is especially recommended for use on wooden stair treads, and areas that are constantly wet, such as timber bathroom floors and saunas etc. Also suited for use in commercial areas such as cafes and restaurants as well as on any timber flooring in rest homes for the elderly.

Polyx®-Oil Anti-slip has been tested in NZ by Opus Laboratories for its anti-slip effectiveness. (Opus Laboratories also conduct testing for BRANZ). When applied correctly, and fully cured, the anti-slip properties exceed the requirements of the NZ Building Code. A copy of the test certificate can be supplied upon request.

Once fully cured, Polyx®-Oil Anti-slip will not crack, flake, peel, blister or water mark and is stain resistant against wine, beer, cola, coffee, tea, fruit juices, milk and water. As durable as polyurethane, and far easier to repair if scratched or worn.

Easy to apply, with 2 thin coats being applied 12 - 24 hours apart. Do not sand between coats, as this will remove the anti-slip particles in the oil. A brush is Osmo's recommended applicator. (The use of a roller is not recommended for applying this product). Ensure your brush is a new, good quality bristle brush. OSMO's 150mm or 220mm floor brush is ideal. 

Timbers which have an unusually high resin and/or tannin content - such as Matai, Kwila, Totara and some eucalypts such as Spotted Gum and Tallowwood - require a different finishing process. These timbers contain resins, oils and tannins in their structure, which will slow down the drying time of the Polyx®-Oil. We suggest doing a test first to determine suitablility. If the oil is not dry after several days, we recommend using a different process. Please contact our office for further details.

Oils are heavy and expensive to transport around the country - especially across Cook Strait. 

For the most efficient and cheapest shipping, we use Castle Parcels/Post Haste Couriers which is a 2-3 day delivery service throughout NZ (except rural). Freight charges on the web site are based on the weight per package delivered to your door. 

For Auckland and regional (Whangarei to Hamilton) we use NZ Couriers which is an overnight service.

Orders can be collected from Natural Oils' warehouse at 218H Marua Road, Mt Wellington, Auckland. Warehouse hours are variable, but are generally 9:00am - 2:00pm weekdays. Please phone (09) 575 9849 before calling, to ensure the warehouse will be open when you wish to collect.

Delivery Policy

Goods are generally shipped to the buyer on same, or next business day via “Track and Trace” couriers. Courier costs are calculated on the weight, number of packages and destination of the order.

Orders are shipped from Auckland. Delivery can vary depending on location, but is usually 2-3 business days. Rural deliveries will generally take an extra day. Where goods are shipped inter island, the seller cannot be held responsible for delays in transit over Cook Strait. Bad weather can delay ferry sailings and add 1 or 2 days to the normal delivery time.

Shortages, Damages or Loss in Transit

Liability for shortage in the quantity of goods delivered is limited to making up the shortage. Where the buyer believes there is a shortage in the quantity of product delivered, the buyer must notify Natural Oils Ltd of any such claim within 7 days of delivery, and must provide Natural Oils Ltd with a reasonable opportunity to investigate that claim.

Goods leaving Natural Oils' premises are adequately packed. Any loss or damage in transit must be notiified to Natural Oils Ltd who will then lodge a claim against the carrier in the prescribed manner.

No damage claims will be considered after 7 days of receipt of goods.
