About Us

Natural Oils is Osmo New Zealand’s online retail arm, built to put the full Osmo range within reach of anyone working with timber — whether you’re a first-time DIYer or a seasoned tradesperson. Osmo has been protecting and beautifying wood for over 140 years, using natural oils and waxes rather than surface coatings, and we want everyone to have access to that same professional-grade finish at home.

Our History

In December 2025, Bailey Wood took over the operations of Natural Oils and became the owner of Osmo New Zealand 2025 Limited. After seven years spent specifying and supplying Osmo products, the opportunity to acquire the business came along — and Bailey took it on. With a background in painting and decorating, followed by ten years of sales and operations experience, Bailey is now leading Osmo New Zealand and Natural Oils into their next chapter.

Richard Lawton founded the business behind Natural Oils. Over 25 years ago, he identified a growing need for more environmentally responsible timber finishes, and in 1997 established Natural Oils Ltd as the New Zealand distributor for Organoil Timber Finishes, an Australian brand. Osmo products joined the range in 2006, and when the Organoil franchise was sold in 2012, Natural Oils Ltd was able to focus entirely on Osmo — a partnership that continues today.
